Motions Magazine - Premier Issue
Hey folks! I just wanted to share the good news! Don and I are honored to be featured in the inaugural issue of Guam’s sleek new publication, Motions Magazine!
Publisher Julian T. Cooper-Nurse describes Motions Magazine as “a quarterly regional lifestyle magazine dedicated to bringing thought-provoking topics, lively stories and visually energetic designs to its reader.”
In this first ever issue, they’re celebrating people and companies who are doing their part to break ground in new industries as well as working to keep Guam and the CNMI Green. Also, I’m proud to say that Guamology gets a cool little plug in the article! So, Don and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have supported our efforts with Shiro’s Head, thanks to the entire cast and to those that contribute to Guamology through your beautiful writing, comments, word of mouth or just stopping by and being a part of the site.
And thank you for your efforts big or small, in helping to create an entertaining awareness on so many unique issues that are a part of our lives on Guam with Guamology. Thank you.
Also featured in this issue are Angelo Villagomez and his Beautify CNMI campaign, Miss Earth Guam Jennifer Neves who shared her food secrets in the Dish Network section and a piece on ecotourism with our neighbors in Cairns, Australia.
Motions Magazine is currently on sale at Bestseller Bookstores (and possibly other magazine stands around the island - as of now I’m not sure exactly where though) and has a cover price of $3.50. They’ll also be featuring an online version beginning March 1, 2009.
I also want to acknowledge the efforts and talent of Motions Magazine’s contributors as well. Thank you to Faye Varias for reaching out to us and extending her professionalism and her unique angle on her interview and article. Thanks to Arvie Munoz for his photography skills and for making me and Don look decent enough to be on the cover.
Thanks to the entire creative, administrative and technical staff of Motions Magazine for being brave enough to feature a cover story on their first ever issue that I’m sure will reach and help other Chamorros, Guamanians and just others in general to realize their dreams are only efforts away and are not as impossible as they may think. They could’ve just as easily featured a story on commerce, politics or something else, but they didn’t. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Support the effort and pick up your copy of Vol. 1 Issue 1 of Motions Magazine today!

Hey Miss Jen Neves!
Thank you so much for your kind words… you and JB are a great inspiration to both me and Kel… and you both do so much for our community… just with your free ukulele workshops alone, I can’t even keep track.
I do have to say that I too am proud to be friends with such beautiful people (you too JB)
Loved your piece in the mag too. I think it subconsciously made me buy those apples last night. Tell JB I say Hafa Adai!

I picked up a copy of this on my way through the airport this afternoon, and was thrilled to see you guys on the cover. It was a pleasure meeting you. Let’s work on the Saipan trip.

OMG Dr. Khorram!
I’m a big fan, your book is amazing…
Hmm we gotta add a review up on Guamology soon
Don and Kel have you read the book yet?
I have copies.
It’s required text for Dr. Johnson’s Intro to Sociology.
For those who haven’t read it, please get a copy soon.
It contains a whole lot of great stories and lessons and tips on living life.
It’s titled “World Peace, a Blind Wife, and Gecko Tails: Intriguing thoughts from an island on making life happier and healthier, and laughing along the way”
Purchase it online http://www.amazon.com/World-Peace-Blind-Gecko-Tails/dp/0980053102
or at U.O.G.’s Triton Bookstore (i’m unsure if they still have copies)

Thank you Dr. Khorram… it was a pleasure meeting you as well. Me and Kel are very excited about possibly visiting Saipan someday. Also, we would like to thank you so much for your support… AND for signing our books! Gecko tails is my “chill out” weekend read. Love it!
Comment by Travis on 25 February 2009:
See, that’s gonna be Dave and I soon, so watch out guys. hahaha
That’s the shit right there. Saw it in bestseller. Although I don’t know how well it’s going to sell, because it was next to all those HAWT Mona Roberts calendars. lol
