Great job, Ryan! It is amazing to see a virtuoso ukulele player in someone so young.

Ryan, you are a true treasure of talent and inspiration - not just to me but for many others. Your passion comes through your music like flames from a fire, man! Like I asked you that day during your peformance, "Never stop doing what you're doing." You're a fine example to what a lot of youth AND ADULTS on Guam can aspire to become. So for that, I have to thank YOU. Si Yu'us Ma'ase.

Here's one of my favorite videos of you that always freaks me out no matter how many times I watch it (this is from JB's MySpace page) Are you sure that uke only has 4 strings? hehe.

Hafa Adai Mr. Kel,
Thank you for the interview on JB's Ukulele Hut's 2nd Anniversary. It was great to be a part of this awesome celebration! I still can't believe it has been two years since I literally ran into Mr. JB's shop. Back then, it was a crowded shop for their Grand Opening. Now for his 2nd Anniversary, it was not only a crowded shop, but a crowded Center Court with many spectators! I'm glad to know that others can witness the same enjoyment and excitement that I have for the ukulele. It was amazing to see the fruits of Mr. JB and Ms. Jen's labor of love for the youth of Guam. I have gone with him to attend ukulele workshops at the different schools, and the interest for the ukulele is just growing! I am glad to hear that I am considered an inspiration to others and hoping to build bridges of many cultures and from the very young to the not so old as well. Thanks again for supporting the youth of Guam!

Kel,

WOW! It's taken me a few days to read and re-read your post and process your words. All I can say is "thank you" and you are FAR too kind...

We don't think of ourselves as "special" in any way, we are just blessed to be at a season of our lives where we KNOW what God's plan for our lives is and we are happy to step out in faith and do His work. :-)

Also, there's nothing that I do that I invented...I merely am following the lead of business mentors who have impacted me in a great way back in the States. I was taught a concept called "Compassionate Capitalism" and have done my best to run my company in that manner.

I would also like to take this moment to thank all the school ukulele clubs that came out to help us celebrate our special day: ST. ANTHONY SCHOOL led by Mr. Imamura, PRICE ELEMENTARY led by Mr. Fedenko, ASTUMBO MIDDLE SCHOOL led by Ms. Maka, and LIGUAN ELEMENTARY led by Mr. Matthews. And of course, our own Hafa Adai Ukulele Club, who, because I was running around crazy that day and couldn't lead the club, was directed by Dolores Santos, an 8th grader from Harvest Christian Academy who is quickly developing into a young leader.

Thanks again to both you and Naomi for taking time out of your weekend to celebrate with us!

Keep strummin',

J.B.
